Facilities for Athletes and Artists

Students who participate in high-level sports can apply for the status of top athlete. This means that they can arrange their study and examination times around their sports schedule so that they can continue their sports career uninterrupted. The status, however, does not mean the study standards or requirements are in any way lowered.

To be considered for this status, the student has to meet one of the following conditions:

• be a recognized athlete with the BOIC, the VBT or the VSF,
• be a member of a first-class, second-class or premier division team in national competition,
• have been selected or called by a national team, or
• have been recognized as a promising team member or athlete by the sports federation or league of his/her sport.

Students who are high-level artists or musicians may enjoy a similar status.
