Kamalia El Mahraoui and Manal Ismael opened the academic year on September 26, 2011. They are just two of many students at Group T symbolizing the university college's plurality of world visions.
Within the K.U.Leuven Association and in the whole of Flanders, Group T's teacher training program is the only one where students can choose from 5 different religious or philosophical courses: Roman-Catholic Religion, Non-confessional Ethics, Buddhism, Islamic Religion, and Protestant Religion. These fields do not merely exist next to one another at Group T. Plurality coordinator Katrien Mertens is responsible for the interdisciplinary dialogue. As such, it was no surprise that she welcomed everyone to the opening event.
The guest speakers included Prof Dr André Oosterlinck, Chairman of the K.U.Leuven Association, Prof Dr Christoffel Waelkens, Full Professor in Astronomy at the K.U.Leuven, and Prof Dr Johan De Graeve, Group T's President-Chief Executive.Their speeches focused on Cosmos & Consciousness and the roles engineers and scientists can take on in this constellation.
This Finnish-Belgian audiovisual collective closed the opening event with an impressive staging of image and sound. NorthFace+ is artist in residence at STUK Arts Center, Group T's structural partner.
