Towards the end of 2009, Group T's Solar Team challenged secondary school kids (12 to 18 years old) to take part in the Solar Olympics. They had to come up with and build a gadget driven by solar energy.
25 teams received a solar pannel and a 100 euro budget. For six months, they worked hard on their invention, coached by the Solar Team members.
The youngsters present their gadgets during the final. A jury will award the most innovative creation with the Technology Award; the most commercial product with the Business Award; and the most original one with the Creativity Award. Each of these is worth 500 euro. The audience also hands out a prize: a hot-air balloon trip.
